The Chapter
The New England Chapter is one of the oldest SCC chapters. Its members share a common interest in the stamps, covers, and other philatelic material for some or all of the Scandinavian countries.
Founded in 1935 by a small group of collectors, the SCC has developed into the world's largest specialty stamp society catering to collectors interested in the philately of the Scandinavian nations. Our purpose is to promote fellowship and communication among collectors and students of Scandinavian philately.
You don't have to be a Nordic collector to be welcome at the SCC! If you are a worldwide collector, you and the Scandinavian portion of your collection will both benefit. Many of our members have other collecting interests too.
Our Meetings
SCC Circuit Books -------- A regular feature of the meeting is a selection of 24 sales books from the national SCC Stamp Mart. These books always contain a wide variety of items, from recent new and used stamps, FDCs, and postal stationery, to seldom seen specialized material.
Show and Tell Program ---- A short presentation by a member or guest on a Scandinavian item of interest. Everyone gains new knowledge from these presentations.
Slide Shows --------- Obtained from the national SCC organization or created by local club members.
